Featured performer:

We are most fortunate to have Jane Curry perform for us as our guest performer at our first meeting for 2018. This will certainly be beautiful and engaging music played with Jane’s usual wonderful skill and heart. Do not miss this performance.

Jane will play a programme of music by Spanish guitar composers Santiago de Murcia and Francisco Tarrega, and a set of transcriptions by Isaac Albeniz.

Born in the UK and now based in New Zealand, Jane is a member of the New Zealand Guitar Quartet and Archi d’Amore Zelanda.
She completed her Doctorate at the University of Arizona, USA and now balances solo and chamber music engagements with the coordination of the largest classical guitar programme in New Zealand at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University, Wellington.

A contemporary of J S Bach once complimented him on the wonderfulness of his organ playing. Bach humbly replied that as long as he played the right notes at the right time the instrument did the rest.
