Wednesday October 30th – Owen Moriarty is playing solo at St Andrews on the Terrace at 12.15pm. Wednesday November 27th – Duo Tapas (Owen Moriarty guitar and Rupa Maitra violin) play at St Andrews on the Terrace at 12.15 Friday 15th November – There is a café concert at Mojos in upper Willis Street (just down from old Settlement restaurant) starting at 7pm. Members and interested parties are warmly invited to the next WCGS meeting Sunday August 11th, New Crossways, 6 Roxburgh St, Mt Victoria. Start; 4.15 Group playing – 5pm solo/ensemble open mic! – 5.15pm guest artist – 6.20pm finish Currently studying a Masters of Music Performance at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, Daniel frequently participates in major competitions and has been the recipient of several awards and prizes, including the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria’s ‘Alhambra Sadie Award’ – one of Australia’s most prestigious classical guitar awards. In 2011 Daniel won 1st place representing Australia and New Zealand in the Lions Global Youth Music Competition held in Seattle USA. In September Daniel will be undertaking a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) at Eastman School of Music in New York, recently voted number one music institution in the USA. Concert entry...
