Our next meeting will be held on Sunday 7th July 2019
At Thistle Hall

The meeting will start at 4.15 and finish at 6.30 pm.
Access to the meeting room is through an open door on the side of the building in Arthur Street. Then go upstairs to the first floor.

Another interesting performance:
Cathy Knowsely –
Don King has been a lute and guitar player in New Zealand and Australia for many many years. He is very famous for his creation and publication of the 2 famous guitar tutors. These are the most used guitar tutors in Australasia and also are used commonly in many other countries around the world. One of Don’s good pupils is going to play a range of compositions of Dons. Her name is Cathy Knowsely. These pieces will be in a wide variety of styles. I look forward to it very much.

This month, as we do not have a major feature artist or focus event, we will have an extended session working on the ensemble booklet.
Lets see if we can get a couple of these pieces recorded and posted to our youtube channel to share with the world! Remember the channel can be found at
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDJNd2iWxOd0K1Ufbihjksw?view_as=subscriber
It already has some pieces from a little while ago.

Online access to Ensemble music
The music can be found in our cloud folder at WCGS_2019_Music.pdf . Feel free to print it out as you wish.

Members playing:
As usual we will have time for members playing. Either ensembles, duos or solos. And please, it does not have to be “classical” music that you perform. Jazz , pop , folk. And also “own compositions” are very welcome.

Guitar Society Fees
To offer our monthly meetings and to promote the activity of the society we need some funds. For example the room must be hired for each meeting. We have purchased a domain name for our web site. We need to pay for printing of music and promotional materials. It would be great if each person interested in the society could also support it by paying the membership fees.
They are as follows (for 2016)
First visit $free
$5 – Casual
$25 – Students
$30 – Family (2 adults and 2 children)
$40 Adults
If you wish to pay fees please give these to the host for the evening or another committee member.
Or you can pay by internet banking at
WCGS acc number: 38 9012 0700 830 00
Please include your name clearly and also reason for payment (Guitar Soc fees)
Thanks for helping in this way.
