Owen Moriarty – featured artist

This meeting is our second meeting for the year of 2015.

It will be great to see you all. Save medical fees and come and get some music treatment instead.

We will be back to our standard meeting structure.

  1. We will start with guitar ensemble. Please be brave and join this group. There are parts for players of all standards. Many of us find it a great joy to be part of this group and it is excellent for developing your playing standard. Group music books will be available for paid up members. Non paid up members will be able to share.
  2. We will then have time for other members to play. It does not matter how simple the piece might be. You are very welcome to play anything you have been working on.
  3. Then our afternoon tea break. People may choose to play while this is happening. Some (probably me included) would find this an easier situation to play in.
  4. Then our feature artist for the evening – the wonderful guitarist Owen Moriarty. Owen is undoubtedly one on New Zealand’s premier guitar players. He was one of the first classical guitar player in New Zealand to gain a masters degree in guitar performance. He is leader and founder of the NZ Guitar quartet. He has studied extensively overseas with the best in the world!

He continues to be much admired and in demand as a performer throughout New Zealand. We are so fortunate to have him as part of our society. And also so very fortunate to have him perform for us this meeting. His playing is ALWAYS a treat. And at the meeting you get to hear him for FREE! So come along and enjoy what will undoubtedly be a most satisfying performance!

So – see you there this coming Sunday for more enjoyable guitar playing and listening.
