Exam play-throughs

George Wills and Jake Church and the two guitarists that make up the duo –

Duo Kita. They are excellent guitar players studying at Victoria University. At the moment they are busy preparing for the Royal Overseas League chamber music competition  – they have agreed to  play a  40 min set of duo and solo works for us this Sunday at our November Guitar Society meeting. We are very fortunate to have this talent perform for us. And it is a top class program.

So please don’t be shy. If you have not been to guitar society before this would be a great meeting to come along to. The program will be…

Last Month

We had a nice guitar society meeting last time. This included a good practice session of guitar group pieces, some appealing playing by other members. Marion introduced a few pieces played by Sharon Isbin (CD) and Jane and Owen playing a beautiful Coste duo.

Julia – a new member, played a beautiful Spannish piece, Amber played the wonderful and enigmatic Louree from the 4th Lute Suite in E Major (for guitar) and Jamie played the superb double. All great music and lovely playing.

Young James did his second society performance with an excellent rendition of What then is Love and a Mozart allegro.

It was a very nice meeting to attend. Thanks everyone for either being there or playing..
