Another interesting performance: Cathy Knowsely – Don King has been a lute and guitar player in New Zealand and Australia for many many years. He is very famous for his creation and publication of the 2 famous guitar tutors. These are the most used guitar tutors in Australasia and also are used commonly in many other countries around the world. One of Don’s good pupils is going to play a range of compositions of Dons. Her name is Cathy Knowsely. These pieces will be in a wide variety of styles. I look forward to it very much. This month, as we do not have a major feature artist or focus event, we will have an extended session working on the ensemble booklet. Lets see if we can get a couple of these pieces recorded and posted to our youtube channel to share with the world! Consisting entirely of original compositions for solo guitar, many of the pieces on ‘Landscapes’ were inspired by the dramatic scenery of Wellington. Michael gave performances of many of these works around Wellington, including a lunchtime concert at Expressions in Upper Hutt, in June 2016.
