Workshop by Lora Kurusa (17:20 – 17:40) : Want to know the secrets of a rich tone? Come to Lora’s workshop/ concert on the 1st of September where she will be giving you the tips and tricks for a beautiful warm tone. She will be covering how to shape/file the nails, what tools to use, and she will be going over picking technique/ position of the hand. Bring your nail care tools (nail filer, sanding paper) and put them to use! |
Public Concert (17:50 – 18:30) : Lora Kurusa Born and raised in Budapest Hungary, Lora started her classical guitar journey at the age of 12 in Australia. Her talent was quickly recognised, and with specialist training, she progressed through AMEB (Australian Music Examination Board) grade 8 exams with high distinction in four years. Lora received her first scholarship at the age of 15 to study classical guitar at the Elder Conservatoriums’ Open Music Academy and has also been awarded multiple project-based scholarships to attend guitar festivals in New Zealand and in Australia. Lora was also the recipient of the 2020 Biennial New Zealand International Classical Guitar Competition (youth section) and she has had masterclasses with Martha Masters, Vladimir Gorbach, Colin Davin, Ken Murry, Csaki Andras, Andrew Blanch, Rothe Ede and Beijing Duo. Lora is currently completing her undergraduate degree at Auckland School of Music majoring in Classical Guitar Performance under the tutelage of Barkin Sertkaya. She then she plans on completing a postgraduate in Music Pedagogy next year. |
