Oliver Howes is in his final semester at the New Zealand School of Music (Victoria University) studying a Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical guitar performance with Dr Jane Curry. He has been awarded in several competitions including 1st prize at the New Zealand International Classical Guitar Competition 2022 and enjoys performing both solo and in various ensemble groups. During his studies, Oliver participated in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Vladimir Gorbach, Colin Davin, and Benjamin Verdery. Oliver is a Licentiate of the Australian Music Examinations Board and was a recipient of the ‘Directors Award’ in 2020 from the NZSM with an exceptional audition for undergraduate studies. Currently, he is pursuing his Fellowship performance diploma with Trinity College London (FTCL). Aside from music, Oliver enjoys the outdoors, gymnastics, chess, and meeting new people!
